As I start getting more and more into training for the RideLondon-Surrey 100 in August, my training rides are getting longer. Yesterday’s ride was a gruelling 46 miles or so, with a devastatingly heavy drenching of rain about a third of the way through. In my training guides they make the point that it might rain on the day of your event, so if it’s due to rain and you were planning on going out for a training ride, do so anyway.

All I’ll say is that I pray it doesn’t rain on August 4th. By the end of this my soaking wet socks had left my feet completely numb they were so cold.

Take pity on me by sponsoring me today. I’m riding for MS-UK. Thanks.

Some pictures from my latest training rides for the RideLondon-Surrey 100 this August. I’m fundraising for MS-UK in honour of my Mum, who has MS, and my Dad who lives with the disease as a full-time carer. Please do take a look at my JustGiving page to find out why I’m riding the RideLondon-Surrey 100 and to donate.

London to Amsterdam done! Tired, dehydrated, a little pink on the knees, but actually feel great! Thanks to anyone who sponsored me (you still can!). Time for a shower, food and a big old Dutch beer!

Number 16 to the finish!

One of our riders has his 2 dogs pulling him up the hill today. For the record I was 3rd over the 2 biggest climbs of the day. Not that it’s a race of course.

Lunch break! Feeling good 40 miles in! Phew!

Can’t even get a bike on a train

So apparently the trains out of London Bridge are quite busy on a Friday evening. A stuttering start to my Ride to Amsterdam as I struggle to get my bike onto a train to Dartford. I set off tomorrow at 6:15am so there’s still time to pledge your support. Either comment here with your name and pledge or donate straight away here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/robratcliff
